There had been much anticipation for this wedding. Undoubtedly more for Kathleen and Luke, of course, but a great deal for me as well. I was excited to travel to the St. Louis area. Excited to be photographing in a gorgeous, sun-drenched vineyard. And most excited to witness the marriage of two wonderful people.
Kathleen’s Facebook wedding countdown had been going for quite sometime, and the smaller and smaller numbers were coupled with increasingly happy/nervous/oh-my-goodness posts. Her mom was making her wedding dress in her cute little shop in Des Peres (talented doesn’t being to describe the lovely Janet – the dress was amazing!) and I knew Kathleen’s preparations and details would be planned perfectly.
It was a wonderful day of celebration – an August day that felt like autumn, a winery balcony with a view, Kathleen’s hilariously ornery brothers (their surprise toast-song, props included, had family members in tears), cowboy boots (for the country boy and dancing girl!) and lots and lots of line dancing rounded out the evening.
It was such a pleasure documenting your day, Kathleen + Luke. I am so happy for you!
